冰轮 - Luna Club (PC chat)
« on: October 20, 2010, 08:24:54 AM »

On Gage street down a box strewn alley between Yellow Door Kitchen and ABC chāoshāng stands a rather plain looking wooden door under a bright red neon sign announcing LUNA CLUB.

Through the door is a long set of age stained wooden steps nearly steep enough to be a ladder, at the top of which a blue glass panelled door stands behind which the deep thump of music can be heard. For those lucky enough to be allowed to pass by the two lumbering bouncers (Nútóu and Mǎmiàn) the wide sweeping interior awaits. The lighting above matches the decor and is low key but sumptuous reds, blues, and black with strips of floor level neon on the walls giving the whole place a slightly ethereal look.

Several rooms fan off the main, some have dance floors, where a strange fusion of ancient Chinese strings and modern bass rhythms keep the clients entertained. Others have a scattering of tables where food, drink and company can be enjoyed by the less energetic. At the back of the main room a broad copper covered bar stands with several dedicated staff serving all manner of exotic drinks to the crowd.
Luna herself is most often stood here at the end of the bar, her sinuous curves complimented by the reflected red copper light as she chats and laughs with the clients.

(OOC: A thread for Players to have in-character chats and maybe meet new friends and find out a little gossip)

Seeing the newest Chong Sheng arrive again this evening, Lu hurries over and gestures to a dark wooden table surrounded by a plush U shaped sofa some way over to the back of the bar.

Lu

<gives a wide grin revealing crooked yellow teeth> Ah, good to see you again friends! Perhaps Lu can help you to a table and maybe we talk some more about other things? ...yes?

<Heading up the stairs and past the hulking doormen, Jonny is dressed in a loose fitting, but well made lightweight grey suit and a white shirt, no tie and the top button open. His shoes are simple black leather, his hair cut short and his eyes are hidden behind a pair of dark sunglasses. The look on his face is currently somewhere between ammused and perplexed and there is no visible sign of an injury on him.

Following Lu's lead he heads over to a table and takes a seat, pulling out a few HK$ he orders a beer>

Good evening Lu, anything interesting happening tonight?

Well it is the first night of the new year and the great fangshi Zou Yan is here, so many people are having their horoscopes for the next period calculated
<gives a rather wicked looking grin> ...makes for good excitement and watching, especially those whose omens do not come as they would like! <chuckles>

<Dylan ignores the mutters and sideways glances at his police uniform as he crosses the room.  He orders a beer from the bar and joins Lu and Jonny.>

<Catching Lu eyeing the glass>  I'll be drinking this one myself  <He takes a large swig and looks over at Zou Yan>

<To Jonny, indicating in the direction of the fangshi with a wry smile>  What do you say?  Want to find out how the afterlife is going to treat us?

Not for me thanks, I suspect it will cost a lot in one way or another to have that information. And in the end it doesnt change anything does it?

<Jonny looks like he is about to say a lot more, but stops, smiles and takes a drink>

Maybe when we have got to know each other better we can talk more, but it is never good to talk of such things with strangers.

<Grins again> You are wise perhaps to not know your fate, but many cannot resist temptation of knowing the augur even if it ill told... and of course some would say it is better to prepare in either case!

<takes a long drag from his cheroot holder and breathes out a plume of sweet smelling smoke> Also this particualr fangshi is well regarded in the Língshi and is here rarely, so many will make the effort purely for the mianzi such a horoscope will give.

<Arriving in the bar, Nathan Cartwright in dressed in a smart, but understated business suit, his grey-to-white fair cut close in a professional style, his eyes taking in the area. Avoiding Lu for the moment, he heads over to the bar for a drink, paying off his 'tab with a handful of dollars.>

If the future really had taken care of itself we wouldn't be here now.

<With a little more agitation than is perhaps reasonable, exits the table and goes over to the bar to try and gain a better look at the 'clients' and the readings they are being given>

Finding himself stood next to Nathan at the bar, Dylan can get a view into the side room where the Horoscopes are being calculated.

The room by the look of it is one normally reserved for conversation and cocktails. The lighting comes from numerous little red lamps sat on shelves amongst old books, strange mirrors, carved emporers busts and other objet d'art. Several low tables are dotted around, each surrounded by equally low, plush and comfortable looking chairs (of the sort designed to only give up the occupant after a struggle).

Within the mood seems excited but respectful, especially considering there is actually quite a crowd of people stood around drinking and talking in low voices in the vicinity. Towards the back of the room a broad sweep of carpet is vacant where it approaches a plush looking snug.

Two figures sit on opposite sides of the snug’s table, one is a young man in an expensive looking suit who sits watching with fascination the actions of the other. The other is a white-bearded old man in a battered looking trilby and cracked leather jacket ..as you watch he leans forward and with deft movements manipulates a set of charts and some white carved blocks, all the while speaking quickly and quietly to his rapt audience of one..

<takes a sip of his beer and muses> As Confusius says...in all the world, in the wind and the rain, the mountains and rivers, the animals, birds and fishes. There is only man with all his plans, schemes and tricks that works against the will of Heaven

ahh, you are truly wise... Though have you ever considered that as flawed beings we merely interpret the will of heaven incorrectly, such plans and schemes could be a way to right our earlier errors or avoid future ones and thus achieve enlightenment?

<Smiles> Me? Wise? No, I just watched too much Monkey and The Water Margin as a kid...but perhaps then we should accept we are flawed beings, and stop trying to interpret the will of heaven? Or even as the Buddah taught and give up wanting the things we cannot have and so achieve enlightenment that way?

Feng

<Feng wanders into the club pausing briefly to smile and greet both the bouncers before stopping and taking a good look round, absorbing the details of the club with vague interest. Seeming satisfied she faintly smiles and goes over to the bar and ordering herself an overly complicated and vividly coloured cocktail, spotting Dylan, Nathan and Jonny all stood separately she flounders for a while before moving to the table with Lu and Jonny>
<smiles openly> Seems I am interrupting quite the passionate debate, I hope you don't mind my joining?
