fair point.

I know how you like your made up languages ;)

All this complication just so Nik can upset people...
You mean RPG doesn't stand for Racial Prejudice Gaming ? :o
Looking at slang terms for other races and their military in Napoleonic period and WW2 their was a heck of a lot of terms used.
Not quite sure just how widespread it was in the Ancient and Medieval world. Though certainly even Prof Tolkein came up with terms such as 'Tarks' , 'Strawheads' and 'Horse-boys' to add colour and 'authenticity' to dialogue.

Ok then..
'Bobbers' as a normal nick-name amongst the Dumonii ?
'Cock-socks' as aare term of strong abuse ?

Like them both!

what about a play on the name Hoileain (like Abo is slang for aboriginal)

A passing Raphaelian suggests "whore-lain"  ;D

I think we might actually have Herba gut mentioned somewhere as the most common source of 'cock-socks' (the things we have to look up in the name of comprehensive gazetteers). I expect there's a myriad of slang terms, from the bajo 'swathe scabbard' to a 'Curate's Cap' as the Pelosian's say. Maybe something like "biteguard" as well, since the most common STD is Mariner's Bite (cos it takes great lumbs out of your manhood)
