Character Creation

All character races and classes will be taken from the PHB, plus the option of Asimaar, because why is that not an option but Tiefling is?

Think classic sword and sorcery ideas without being too exotic

For those without instant access to the Players Handbook (PHB) the races are as follows:

Asimaar - somewhere in your distant ancestry there is the blood of celestials.

Dragonborn - Your heritage is that of the dragons, created by either draconic gods, or dragons themselves from dragon eggs eons ago you share many traits with a particular kind of dragon.

Dwarf - Bold and sturdy folk of mountains and hills, famed for their craftsmanship, warriors and hardy nature.

Elf - Grace, beauty and magical. They are famed for their refinement, skill at arms, magic and lore.

Gnome - Small, energetic, curious with a joy of life. They are famed for being tinkerers, illusionists and adventurers.

Half Elf - The union of a humans and elves, they are wanderers, often looking for a place to call home.

Halfling - Diminutive, practical, cheerful folk. Full of the love of hearth and home but with a hidden resilience and courage that surprises many big folk.

Half Orc - Like half elves, they are the product of a union between humans and orcs, they too struggle to find acceptance in the world, and are often regarded with suspicion and distrust from civilised lands.

Human - Ubiquitous and uniquely varied, no two humans are alike, they are found everywhere and are sublimely adaptable to their circumstance. There is a reason humans cover every corner of Faerun.

Tiefling - like the Asimaar there is the touch of the outer planes, this time though it is of the infernal, with some devilish or demonic ancestry.

And classes are:

Barbarian - Warriors from less civilized lands, relying on brute power and rage to win their battles

Bard - Teller's of tales, singers of songs, poets, keepers of knowledge. They can inspire, and tear down with their words.

Cleric - Servants of the Gods, holy warriors, protectors of the faithful and their churches.

Druid - Guardians of the wilderness and the wild places, servants of the "Old Ways" before the gods came, they are the masters of the natural world and wild places.

Fighter - Skill at arms and amour is their trade. They are masters of the battlefield and superlative warriors

Monk - The pinnacle of physical training, of uniting body and mind as one. They excel in combat and physical activity.

Paladin - Paragons of honour and right, these are warriors sworn to an oath they will not break, a code of justice that drives them.

Ranger - Warriors who make the wilderness their home, they are hunters of monsters and protectors of the wilderness around the more civilized lands.

Rogue - Using wit, skill, speed and stealth to ply their trade, they are thieves, explorers, scouts, assassins, burglars and many other shadowy things.

Sorcerer - Born of some magical bloodline they have an innate ability with magic, able to cast it and alter it as their force of will commands.

Warlock - Magic users who have made some pact with a being of power, be it some demon, angel, elder god that lies sleeping or some other entity. They have done a deal for magic.

Wizard - The true masters of magic. Through study, learning, practice and experiment they master the thaumaturgical arts. Wizards are amongst the greatest names in all of Faerun.
