Thank you Violet, Rose. Seems someone has seen the madness in this.

"Doesn't mean we let you off either, but I need to know, what have you done? Human experimentation, once or multiple times? Why did you do it? What were the results?"

They place their head in their hands and seem to relax again. When they look up they have tears in their eyes.

I'm a Doctor! You really think I'm going to do such things?

Confusion passes over their face.

You said you weren't into such things. Why are you so interested Rose?

She sighs for a few seconds, followed by a long pause you think this may be the first time you've seen her lost for words

"Bad science is offensive but I'd still be curious what a mind like yours did and why, finding out was a shock and it's possibly I overacted in haste to make others in this group trust me after what they found out about my past. I condemn you but yes you are right. A part of me is fascinated, a part of me has wondered before. But then Magnus I quite simply never would. I only inflict my horror's on those who earn it... of course you still claim it is only Karl you did this to, and I wonder I really do"

"One side says one thing, another says another, I don't know any of you well enough. Who am I to believe? Really is a shame I've never managed to create a working truth serum, last experiment made one of the rats explode..."

Instead of putting words into my mouth ask me what you want! Mouse needs to speak instead of writing in his book!

Thinking

"Fair point, okay then, are you engaged in any current research, if so what is your hypothesis and what experiments have you run to investigate it?"

"What was the issue with the patient? Why did you get involved with the revolution? What previous research have you been involved in from university onwards?

She is shocked by the barrage of questions but glad that someone if finally telling her what they want.

It was Mr. Daley. He was having symptoms of 5 conflicting illnesses last year. I have been treating him since then. The only thing he has now is pain.

I have done nothing but treat patients since I left the university. You can ask them all if you do not believe me.

I got involved in this revolution as Karl was joining. I did not want to leave him, knowing he could get hurt.

Why did you give Karl the wake... honestly you won't get judgement here I want facts? Is he noticeably worse since he has taken it? Do you think from a medical standpoint he might be broken psychologically and a danger to the group? Did you write anything in your journal which could lead to Mouse jumping to the conclusion you have performed live experiments on others?

And what happened to your father?"

Their eyes don't seem to be focused on anything at they look around the room. A tear rolls down their face.

My...  Takes a deep breath.

My father died of sepsis. I don't understand why you are asking about him.

Cold almost distant, you can also feel her thinking through

"I'm thinking through every angle, putting together a picture, you reacted strongly earlier it was worth asking, we all have pain in our lives you are not alone. Answer the other questions please"

She wipes away the tears quickly. She speaks quietly trying to hold back more tears.

Karl was already declining before he came to me. I didn't notice it at first. Once he had taken the wake, he was... cold and distant. He pulled a gun on you. He never did that before.

Looks Rose in the eyes.

I don't think he is a threat. He is just confused and angry. With me.

She looks away again.

I don't know why I gave him the wake. I honestly cannot tell you. All I remember was looking at the wake and the next minute I was pouring it into his drink.
