The Hovel
« on: January 30, 2019, 09:20:43 AM »
**A small stark room, what little furniture it contains - a couple of three legged stools, an upturned barrel and an upturned bucket, a few wooden pallets with rough blankets thrown over them - appears to be made out of splinters. The roof is low, and the ground is thick with grit and sand. There are better places for high discourse, but when secretly planning a revolution, it seems to fit the bill nicely.**

They are staring at their Journal in the table. Occasionally their eyes flick to each member of the group but their eyes return to the journal.

Eyes follow the Journal then flick up to Mouse once it is off the table.

What more do you want to know? You read my journal. Do you want to know what I had for breakfast now?

Mouse just stares.

His red eyes boring into Magnus. Unrelenting, despairing oddly off putting.

he doesn't say a word just looks in stony silence.

Rose is sat nervously in the corner of the room, she's fidgeting with an empty syringe she pulled from her long coat"

Fine!

Karl came to me, breaking, from this so called revolution. And in a desperate action I gave him the wake. He, he improved. Started joking with me like we use to. He wasn't thinking about the deathwatch. Then he fell asleep. He was peaceful for once. Too peaceful. I checked his pulse and there wasn't one. Like the rat he appeared dead. That's when I ran to you, Mouse. The rest you know.

How many more times do you want me to relive that memory!

"False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil... if it wasn't about cheering him you don't use a drug you don't know the effects of, you know enough about alchemy to have given him Hyoscine not bloody wake if your goal is what you wise to pretend it was, come Magnus, I could at least understand intellectual curiosity"

pacing back and forth, partially to stay awake, mainly to think

Magnus it's clear you're hiding something, one needs only look to the missing pages in your journal to be certain of that. Now we all have our own secrets, see Richard if you want a prime example, but hiding the truth now only damns you more! Please help us help you. We are part of a revolution for the betterment of people and to think we can't work together, to better ourselves, to try and work towards a world where there are no more dark secrets that hold us back from that glorious day in the sun... Well dear Magnus I may as well put a bullet in all our heads. Please speak truth friend for this charade does no one any favours.

Annabelle

They spin around on their chair to face Peter.

Don't compare me to that pathetic creature. He was a sadistic man with no place in this world. I'm fucking pleased that he's gone, wherever he pissed off to.

Turns back. Calms down slightly.

What is you desperately think I am hiding? You have read my Journal. Can you not think that I made a mistake? Or do you think so low of me now that you think I was as mad as that bastard Richard.

When they say his name they say it with pure hatred.

Mouse

Stares at her.

Picks up a nearby dented cup and pours himself a cup of water.     Its slightly tanned in colour.

He reaches to a nearby worn and battered notepad and proceeds to write something down.

Pausing twice as if considering something then quickly scribbling something.

He takes a sip of his drink.

Their breathing slows as they calm down further. Their shoulders slouch slightly.

I don't know what you want me to say Mouse. I told you what happened! You read my Journal, you know everything I can tell you.

There is a pleading look in their eyes.

Raises voice slightly.

What experiments?! What are you trying to suggest Mouse?
