Crionn, 'The Old Man'Scalper Chieftain
Crionn, known simply as the Old Man
in Dummonii, has survived longer than anyone else in the Scalper business, and not by playing nice. He's leader of the local partisans - the Third Arm, named after three-armed Horrun, god of slaughter. Chief by virtue of being more cruel and ruthless than any other scalper within leagues of Tuthom-Pothrie, its fair to say even his own men live in fear of his easilly-provoked wrath and evil guile. He rules from Pathfinder's Hall, from a chair decorated with the bones of dead Pelosians, and takes the fingerbones of Dummonii who displease him and makes them into dice. He keeps two starving scavlings as 'pets' (mainly to use for torturing captives) and its rumoured that he never sleeps, but merely sits and plots wickedness in the dark each night.
Murder is the Old Man's specialty, but he's not above robbery or extortion to make an amber mark or two "for the cause." Smuggling is about the only crime he doesn't turn a gnarled hand to, leaving that to Ollmoir Godborn and the Munerunners ("they've no stomach for killing, might as well get what use of them we can"). He's openly scornful of the Peace that keeps the town free and bloodless, but seems to grudgingly honour it nevertheless - or at least keeps him men on a short leash, and brutally disciplines anyone who kills on the south side of the river without his express permission.
